The software platform is all about making hardware devices available to application code through abstract and generic software interfaces. To do this a stack of components is grown on top of the hardware devices, with each layer providing more generic functionality for accessing the device. Some stacks may be small – for example a hardware wrapper and a driver on top of it – while others may be more complex and provide truly hardware independent access to the device.
This plugin adds support for printing the graphical Device Stacks section from a Software Platform file. This includes
Page Setup,
Print and
Print Preview via the EmbeddedStack Editor's main
File menu, and the ability to add a Software Platform Print output in the Documentation Outputs section of an Output Job file, targeting a nominated Software Platform file (
*.SwPlatform).
When generating prints of this type from an Output Job file, you can either:
- Send the output directly to a desired printer, by connecting the output to the required Hard Copy Job, or
- Create a PDF document, by connecting the output to the required PDF-based Output Container.
The full path and name of the source Software Platform file is included as part of the generated print.
