Testpoints are a common feature in both board fabrication and assembled board testing. In Altium Designer you can use any pad or via as a fabrication or an assembly testpoint, as defined by the Testpoint settings in the
Pad/
Via dialog. Potential testpoint sites are detected by the
Testpoint Manager, in accordance with the applicable Testpoint design rules.
A fabrication testpoint report can be generated in a variety of formats, including text, CSV or IPC-D-356A. To generate a fabrication testpoint report, use the PCB Editor
File»Fabrication Outputs»Test Point Report command, or include a Test Point Report output in the Fabrication Outputs section of an Output Job file.
