Compact PCI Express brought PCI Express signalling to the CompactPCI form factor. The spec from PICMG defined a new connector system to improve power distribution and facilitate the higher data rates. This template implements the 3U Type 1 Peripheral module, and includes signal assignments and most mechanical constraints defined as design rules.
